Captain of Ghanaian giants Kumasi based Asante Kotoko FC has pleaded with team owners in Ghana to make sure their players are well paid to ensure players stay in the country to make the local game interesting.

The defender, speaking on Accra based Asempa FM said, his club Asante Kotoko takes very good care of him in terms of salaries but he always receives calls from most of his colleagues in other teams complaining about the way their clubs treat them that it's not the best.

According to him, some players are on lower salaries to the extent that their expenditure at end of the month exceeds their salaries.

"Although we are all footballers playing in Ghana, when I talk to some of the players in other clubs I can clearly see the level ain't the same."

"Some players are paid as low as GH¢200.00 which is not enough because if you take out your transport fares to and from training they can't even get some to feed themselves not to even talk of saving some to secure their future."

"Even those us who are paid well are still suffering then how much more those in the smaller clubs who are not well paid and even sometimes their small salaries don't even come.

" He further advised club administrators to prioritize the welfare of their players by making sure they're well paid if they want the players to perform to their ability.

"I plead with the owners of teams to make sure players are paid well because it all we have and the must treat us as such."
