The coach for the senior National Team the Black Stars and former Asante Kotoko defender, has welcomed the decision for the Kumasi based side to participate in the CAF confederations which starts late this month.

In an interview with Kumasi based radio station Kessben FM he highlighted what Kotoko stands to gain from their participation in the Confederations Cup, "if Kotoko believes they are ready financially then it is a good decision to participate in the tournament, it will serve as a platform from which the young players in the team could gain exposure and continental experience".

He further advised the coach to make sure the players are well versed in the tactical direction of the coach as they emback on the African journey. Kotoko were losing finalist in the maiden edition of the CAF Confederations Cup in 2004 when they lost on penalty to Accra Hearts Of OAK.

Kotoko are yet to know their opponent, as CAF deliberates on the modalities of how the tournament is to be organised at a later date.
