Final Whistle Sporting Club qualified to the Round of 12 stage of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association Special competition by defeating Thunder FC 2-1 at the Madina Estates park on Sunday.
The match originally scheduled for Saturday at the Ajax Park, Legon was suddenly changed to Sunday. Final Whistle not perturbed by the sudden change came from a goal down to beat Thunder FC.
The first half was a pulsating affair with both sides creating chances early on. Thunder were the first to struck the net with a scuff shot on the 20th minute, beating the Final White Goalie.
Final Whistle rallied to get the equaliser which came just before half time. Striker Andrew was fouled in the 18 yard box with midfielder Franklin Asante coolly slotting in for the equaliser. It ended 1 all at the break.
Final Whistle were quickly out of the blocks at the start of the 2nd Half and came close to taking the lead many a time. They were however not to be denied on the 60th minute when Samuel Agaga converted a nice cross with his head to take the lead for the Amasaman based side.
As the game wore on, Thunder FC tried to break the defense of Final Whistle to no avail. Final Whistle were however creating the better chances and saw out the win to qualify to the next stage.
Final Whistle now faces Alajo United at the Teshie Mats Park on Saturday.
