Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior says he is happy with how his first season at the club has been.
Madrid spent €45million to sign Vinicius in 2017, the winger was just 16 years old at that time but they let him stay on loan at Flamengo for another year.
When he came to Real Madrid, he started from Castilla and then work his way into the first team.
Despite no silverware, Vinicius Junior believes his debut season was a success and he hopes to win laurels in the future.
Unfortunately for the Brazilian winger, he could not make the cut for Brazil's Copa America squad thanks to an ankle injury he suffered in March.
“For me, on a personal level, it has been a great year,” he told MARCA.
“I started in Castilla, but I knew that could happen and that’s where I was going to be for the first few weeks.
“But playing for the first team… I learned so much.”
“It was a shame that we couldn’t reach our targets,” the teenager added.
“But the team was coming off winning three straight Champions League titles. Unfortunately this could happen.
“We are all looking forward to playing better next season so that the team wins again. I am sure we will do it.”
